The Department of Biology, FMIPA, Padang State University carries out community service at SD Negeri 03 Tanjung Balik, X Koto Above District, Solok Regency.

The community service team chaired by Rahmawati D., M.Pd. and consisting of Dr. Helendra, M.S. and Dr. Fitri Arsih, S.Si., M.Pd, conducted waste management awareness education for 45 elementary school teachers and 36 elementary school student representatives, as an effort to implement sustainable environmental education.

Head of the Community Service Team from the Biology Department, UNP Rahmawati D., M.Pd. explained that Nagari Tanjung Balik, X Koto District above, was chosen because awareness of waste management in this nagari was relatively low.
